Jerry
Shade is an experienced litigator, practicing law since
2001. The majority of his cases are civil matters
including domestic relations issues, personal injury
matters, business litigation, and a variety of general
disputes. Mr. Shade also represents juveniles and adults with criminal cases.
Additionally Mr. Shade provides estate
planning and probate services including wills, trusts, living wills,
and powers of attorney. He is licensed in all Ohio
courts, all Kentucky courts, and in the
Federal District
Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
Mr. Shade
has also
represented clients in the
Federal District Court for
the Northern District of Ohio and the
Federal District
Court in St. Louis, Missouri. He has taken cases to
trial in
Hamilton County,
Butler County,
Warren County,
Montgomery County,
Clermont County,
Darke County, and
the Federal District Court for the Southern District of
Ohio, and the Ohio Court of Claims, as well as several
municipal courts.
Prior to law school,
Mr. Shade received his
bachelors in Speech Communication and his bachelors in
Business from Muskingum College in
New Concord, Ohio,
graduating Cum Laude in 1993. He received his Masters in
Business Administration in 1994 from
Ohio University,
graduating Summa Cum Laude. At the
University of
Cincinnati College of Law,
Mr. Shade was awarded the Jacob
Cox Honors Scholarship, and the Negotiations Book Award.
Mr. Shade graduated a member of the Dean’s Honor’s List in
2001. While in law school he worked as a law clerk
for General Electric Aircraft Engines, in the Government
Contracts division, and also served as a judicial extern
for the Honorable Sandra S. Beckwith, Chief Judge of the
United States District Court for the Southern District
of Ohio.
Mr. Shade is a member of the
Ohio Bar Association, the
Cincinnati Bar Association,
the Warren County Bar
Association, the
Butler County Bar Association,
the Ohio
Association for Justice, and the North East Chamber of
Commerce. He is an affiliated attorney with the
Thomas
More Law Center. Mr. Shade
is married with three children; he attends
St.
Gertrude’s Church in Madeira as well as
St. Suzanna in
Mason and volunteers his time in several areas. He is
a board member of Queen of Angels Montessori School in
Cincinnati, and Royalmont Academy is Mason. He
advocates for the unborn by working with and supporting
groups such as the Thomas More Law Center, the
Sanctity
of Life Foundation,
Family First PAC, and
Northern
Kentucky Right to Life. He has served as an arbitration
judge in
Hamilton County, a judge at
University of
Cincinnati Law School for Negotiations competition, and
he has served as a mentor.
